It's covered with love letters from romantic souls searching for everlasting love. Juliet's House is lucky to have many of our adoptable cats living at the Petsmart adoption center on Bridford Parkway. These cats and kittens need help with keeping their cages clean, ensuring they have fresh food and water, and giving them a little bit of love. These volunteers also bring used blankets and toys home to be laundered as needed to keep a fresh supply available.
Juliet’s House, a romantic dream in Verona
Welcome to The Geographical Cure, my travel and culture blog. I believe in the salutary and magical effects of a temporary geographical cure and have been running away from real life to seek treatment for years. The interior is somewhat sparse, but decorated with a bit authentic period furniture. There’s also beautiful frescos and wood paneling from the 15th century, You’ll have an idea of how the wealthy lived in the time of Romeo and Juliet.
& Juliet Announces North American Tour

The mansion referred to today as “Juliet’s House” was built in the 13th century and belonged to the ancient Italian family Del Cappello. It is believed that Shakespeare interpreted the surname of this very family (Del Cappello – Capuletti) for his legendary work. Though rooted in superstition, this act connects people from all walks of life, symbolizing their shared hopes and dreams. The statue, worn by countless hands, stands as a poignant reminder of the human desire for connection and affection, transcending cultural and linguistic barriers. It’s a moment of interaction that binds the past with the present, inviting everyone to partake in a ritual of hope and to leave Verona with a sense of enchantment.
The jukebox musical’s touring plans were shared on the April 25 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, during which the Broadway company performed. If you work during the day, are you willing to arrange and pay for a dog walker? Dogs left alone and/or crated for too long are often hyper when you finally arrive home. After a long day at work, it is usually not what most people enjoy. Make sure your companion animal will get adequate exercise and attention.
This area of the house not only celebrates the story of Romeo and Juliet but also commemorates Verona’s rich cultural heritage, making it a must-visit for those captivated by the power of love stories. Legend has it that rubbing your hand over Juliet's right breast brings love and fertility. After the ball, the infatuated Romeo returns to the Capulet garden and overhears Juliet on her balcony declaring her love for him. Romeo makes himself known and they vow to marry the very next day, a marriage doomed to instant tragedy. It’s a really clean and fresh dish with a delicate richness that one would expect from really good caviar.
Over the centuries, the structure has undergone numerous renovations, passing through the hands of different owners. In the meantime the legend and the interest of the public grew, identifying it as the birthplace of the Shakespearean heroine. In 1907, therefore, the City of Verona decided to acquire part of the complex, to restore it and give it back its ancient medieval appearance. The uncertainty about its originality has only accentuated the halo of magic around this house, which immediately became an iconic place for all lovers of the world. Romantic dining experiences, enchanting night walks, and serene garden escapes await those eager to immerse themselves in the city’s atmosphere. Verona is not just the setting of a Shakespearean play; it’s a living testament to the enduring appeal of love and romance, inviting travelers to create their own memorable moments.
Bringing in a designer who could interpret a space with an authentic approach has been very important for each of my four restaurants. The goal has always been to create beautiful, elegant and inviting spaces. Having worked with incredible talents such as Thomas Schoos and Jeremiah Brent has made it a lot easier to achieve that goal. Juliet feels both like a little piece of Paris and an extension of my living room. We like to have at least two kittens in a foster home so they can socialize with and learn from each other.
In the courtyard of Juliet’s House stands the bronze statue of Juliet, an enduring symbol of love and one of Verona’s most beloved attractions. Legend has it that those who touch the statue’s right breast are blessed with good luck in love, a tradition that has charmed visitors for decades. The family gave its name to the street and the emblem is carved into a relief in the keystone of the internal arch of the building's courtyard. To me, the way a space feels is equally as important as the food, beverage and service in any dining experience.
From traditional trattorias serving hearty Veronese dishes to contemporary cafes offering innovative cuisine, Verona caters to all tastes. As dusk falls over Verona, the city transforms into an enchanted landscape, with ancient stones and winding streets bathed in the soft glow of streetlights. Juliet’s House Verona is just the beginning of the romantic journey through Verona. The city, with its medieval architecture, winding streets, and vibrant piazzas, offers countless opportunities for exploration and discovery. A gift shop is open on the grounds of the house, where you can buy various fun little things with love symbolism. In 1997 a museum exhibition was opened in Juliet’s house, and in 2002 some of the props used during the filming of Romeo and Juliet by F. The interior of the museum is also used for art exhibitions and temporary installations. Juliet's house is open to the public and is among the most visited monuments of Verona. Some rooms are used to celebrate weddings with civil ceremony. As soon as you go up the stairs to the first floor you will find yourself in the room from which you access the balcony.

Come visit one of our adoption centers or stop by at one of our weekly adoption fairs to check out our adoptable pets! Many times something as simple as a pop up cage, bathroom, or a medium to large closet is enough space. While a spare bedroom is fantastic when an option, please don’t let not having a spare bedroom deter you from fostering kittens. Julie and her team lead an engaging and highly personalized creative process that starts with the owner’s vision and takes form through rigorous planning and exacting execution.
Here, the past and the present merge, inviting you to explore the courtyard that houses the world-renowned balcony, a symbol of eternal love and hope. In the courtyard there is a bronze statue of Juliet, made by Nereo Costantini. The duck confit “cigars” is a very sophisticated dish, but in this setting feels fresh and contemporary. It’s taking Parisian food and giving it a twist which is the same thing we wanted to do with the interiors.
We like to have someone come by at least twice a day and are always in need of more help maintaining our adoption center. Nestled within Juliet’s House, a dedicated team known as the ‘Juliet’s Secretaries’ painstakingly reads and responds to each letter, a modern echo of the timeless quest for love and understanding. This unique tradition keeps the story of Romeo and Juliet alive and connects people across cultures through the universal language of love. Engaging in this tradition, visitors can leave a piece of themselves behind in Juliet House Verona, woven into the fabric of a collective narrative that spans generations. Step across the threshold of Juliet’s House, and you’re immediately enveloped in the essence of a bygone era, where every room whispers tales of romance and tragedy. The interior, adorned with period pieces and Renaissance art, offers a glimpse into the domestic life that might have surrounded Juliet herself.
The courtyard boasts a statue of Juliet, and visitors can partake in the popular ritual of rubbing her right breast for luck in love, though she herself had very little. Inside the house, you’ll find a small and immensely crowded museum with Renaissance-era costumes and the actual bed used in Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 film adaptation of the story. The gift shop is the crowning glory of the kitschy romantic vibe.
